Factors Affecting the Accuracy of Tapered Roller Bearings

Precision tapered roller bearings mainly include two aspects, one is the dimensional accuracy, the other is the rotational accuracy. The former is required after the bearing is installed. The rotation accuracy is defined as the range of the tolerance of the swing, including the radial and axial swing of the inner and outer rings, the lateral swing of the inner ring and the perpendicularity of the radial surface.

The accuracy grade of bearing increases from ordinary grade 0 to grade 6, grade 5, grade 4 and grade 2, in increasing order. The bearing standard adopted in China is GB307.

The tapered roller bearing is a kind of separate type bearing. The structure of the bearing is that both inner and outer rings have tapered raceways. It has three different structural types: single row tapered roller bearing, double row tapered roller bearing and tearing tapered roller bearing according to the number of roller rows.

Tapered roller bearings are designed to withstand radially oriented radial and axial combined loads. The bearing capacity is directly affected by the raceway angle of the outer ring. The larger the raceway angle of the outer ring, the greater the bearing capacity. The clearance of single row tapered roller bearing needs to be adjusted by the user during installation, while the clearance of double-row and four-row tapered roller bearing is given according to the customer's requirements at the beginning of delivery and does not need to be adjusted by the user.

Precision tapered roller bearings are separated mainly because they consist of an inner ring with roller and cage assembly. They perform well in many areas of industrial life, the most common areas being: automobile, rolling mill, metallurgy, mining and plastic machinery, and so on.

Precision tapered roller bearings are installed on the spindle of the coordinate boring machine. The runout of the inner race of the complete set of bearings and the radial runout of the inner ring of the complete set of bearings are the key accuracy indexes. There are eight reasons that affect the rotation accuracy of medium and large-scale precision tapered roller bearings: the variation of taper angle of roller gauge, the straightness of roller plain line, the radial movement of the cage, the perpendicularity of plain line of the cage window hole, the roundness error of ring raceway, the straightness of raceway plain line, the assembly process and the detection method.
